This degree is offered in partnership with University of the West of Scotland, and taught at the South Lanarkshire College campus. This degree-level course teaches the advanced skills and knowledge for a career in accounting or finance. On completion, you can progress directly to honours-level study. You'll be taught by industry experts who are qualified chartered accountants and who have worked as accountants for many years. As the course is run in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), you'll have benefits such as the UWS library, leisure facilities, student union and study areas.

Where can this course lead?

This course opens up many opportunities. You can take professional exams with the main accountancy bodies such as ICAS, Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) for which the Bachelor of Accounting confers accreditation and exemptions. You can use this degree as a launchpad into general business or finance, and qualifications with other professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants must have  successfully achieved an HND in Accounting at South Lanarkshire College with an A/B in the Graded Unit.  

All applications must be made to the University of the West of Scotland direct via UCAS.

What are the interview arrangements?

Continuing students from South Lanarkshire College required to have a successful pre-exit guidance interview at HND Level. External candidates applying to enter at Year 3 level will undertake an informal induction and information session.
