We will continue to work with The Scottish Government and key College partners, including the awarding bodies, to keep all students, staff and stakeholders updated as we move through the Government’s routemap.
The Strategic Framework makes clear that colleges can continue to bring back a small number of students for critical in-person teaching and assessment. This means that the majority of our learning and teaching will continue to be delivered online during this period, with the phased return of students commencing as the lockdown restrictions are eased over coming weeks and months.
The majority of college staff will continue to work from home, with our Student Support, Student Funds, Student Association and other support teams available to assist over email or phone. If you do require in-person support, please do contact us to make arrangements for this.
As has been the case over the past few months, please do not come onto campus unless you have been invited to do so or without a pre-arranged appointment. Our staff are all still working and available to help you online or over the phone.

Support
As a college we continue to work creatively and flexibly to support all of our students to complete their course. We are here to support you and help you achieve your qualification. We know this is a difficult time and we are here to help you achieve your potential, despite the current restrictions. If you need any support, guidance or have any questions during this period, speak to your lecturer initially or email student.support@slc.ac.uk where a member of staff will be in contact with you.
We have a range of support services available at the college including trained counsellors, a partnership with Togetherall, a range of external support organisations and college staff, who are all here to support you.

Campus safety

Applications and interviews
We are still accepting applications for courses as normal through our website. If the course requires an interview, and you are invited for one, this will be done online or over the phone currently. Please note that, due to current restrictions, it may take longer to get back to you than usual. February and March start courses
If you are due to start at the college in February or March please note that your course will be taught online initially. You should have been sent details about starting. If you have not heard from us please email marketing@slc.ac.uk

The safety of our students, staff and visitors is of paramount importance. To ensure we keep everyone safe and help stop the spread of coronavirus our campus is currently only open for essential purposes.
Yes teaching and learning is continuing to take place online for students. Your lecturer should have been in contact with you to arrange your timetable and work.
Please do not attend our campus unless instructed to do so or you have an appointment.
We are following all NHS and Scottish Government advice to ensure our staff, students and visitors are kept safe.
Yes the college campus is safe. There are only very limited numbers of staff and students on campus and significant safety and cleaning procedures are in place.

The college can support students with hardship funds and other bursaries where required, please email bursaries@slc.ac.uk if you are having an issues with your funding, or run into extra difficulties because of the current lockdown restrictions.
Your student funding will not be affected by the new lock down restrictions. If you are concerned about finances or need support, please contact bursaries@slc.ac.uk
The College recognises the extra burden being placed on students with childcare, caring responsibilities, or underlying health issues. Please be assured that we will continue to be as flexible as possible in accommodating these needs as well as addressing other concerns you may have. Please speak with your Course Tutor or staff in Student Services about any concerns or issues you may be experiencing.
Yes our courses are still open for applications. We are still accepting applications online as normal and alternative arrangements are in place for interviews. We appreciate that it may be difficult for some students to study at home and staff will be available online to support you. Contact your lecturer in the first instance and they will offer support or direct you to the correct department. They will be contactable by email.

Follow the normal procedures and let your lecturer aware that you won’t be able to attend your lesson.
The Majority of classes are now being held online, except in critical circumstances, and your lecturer should have been in contact with you regarding your course.
The college library is currently closed. Our Click, Contact and Collect service to access library resources is still operating email library@slc.ac.uk for further information.
