Professional Cookery students cook up a storm at Masterchefs of great britain

Our outstanding Professional Cookery students & Staff have been cooking up a storm at the annual Masterchefs of Great Britain lunch and Awards, which was held at the prestigious Prestonfield 5* Hotel in Edinburgh at the end of last month.
 
At the event, four current South Lanarkshire College students and two former students collaborated to create six varieties of canapé for 400 esteemed guests.
 

The canapes the team delivered included:

“Beetroot Panna Cotta”

Lutz Green Leaf Beetroot Panna Cotta

Pickled Vegetables, Creamed Ricotta Cheese

Root Vegetable Wafer

Cottage Pie

Ale Braised Ox Cheek, Caramelised Shallot Puree,

Potato Foam, Onion and Chive Crumb

and

Black Ash Vegan Cheese

Woodland Mushroom tuille, Creamed Black Ash Vegan Cheese

Onion and Thyme Crumble

The South Lanarkshire College  student team were also given an award during the prestigious event, for their ‘outstanding contribution’ to COP 26 which was held in Glasgow last year .

 

All students were presented with a glass trophy for their efforts at COP and framed certificate of participation for the lunch at Prestonfield.

The students were then invited to enjoy the six course lunch with their peers and esteemed guests, as a thank you for their efforts from the Masterchefs.
