To support digital provision and enable students to engage with blended modes of learning, South Lanarkshire College is pleased to have available a number of laptops for long-term loan.
The Long Term Laptop Loan application form can be accessed by logging in to the Student Portal.
Long term loans are available for students who are experiencing financial hardship and have no alternative access to digital technology. Further details on the loan system can be found in the following documentation:
The Library Advisors are always happy to advise you on the best way to research and to help you access any of the specialist services on offer. These include:
• A specialist book stock, tailored to the needs of College courses • E-books and E-magazines • Library Catalogue • Laptops for home use (apply through student portal) • Issue of books for bursary funded courses (by appointment only) • Subscription databases

The Library’s Heritage catalogue lists all the resources that the Library contains and can be searched by author, title or subject keyword.
It can be accessed through the Library Moodle pages or using the quicklinks on the SLC homepage along with our subscription EBSCO e-books and Flipster e-magazines.

Get the Buzzword
Before you begin your application, you must ensure you have South Lanarkshire College’s Buzzword, so that your application can be linked to the College, your reference attached and sent to UCAS.
The Buzzword for 2022 applications is robbie2022
The UCAS hub is a new centralised area that provides you with all the tools and information you need. It requires only one username and password to sign in, register, search subject guides, access career information, favourite and short-list courses, start your application, use the personal statement tool, chat to current students via UniBuddy and track offers and decisions.
To get started, visit ucas.com/hub. Make sure you’re on the ‘Register’ tab, and then fill in your details to create your account. Once you’ve hit register, you’ll be asked to verify your account. You’ll then be sent an email to the email address you registered with.
Please be aware of deadline dates for your chosen course(s).
The main application deadline for most undergraduate courses, including the reference is the 26th January 2022 at 6pm (UK time). (Except from those with an October deadline)
Applications received after this date will still be forwarded to universities and colleges, providing they have vacancies, but they are not obliged to consider them, and some popular courses may have no spaces left.
