The Library have a wide range of free resources available that help support your learning and teaching.  We work closely with curriculum areas to ensure the resources are appropriate to the course you are studying.  You can view all the available resources which include e-books, e-magazines, and books (hard copies) by visiting the Library Moodle page.  This is easily accessible through the Portal Front Page and then by logging into Moodle (VLE).  Click on the Moodle App and then the Library Page.

Once, you have decided on the books that you wish to borrow, you can then either email or phone the Library – or 01355 807308 to reserve these books for collection.  Please provide us with your student number and an up to date email address that you use so we can contact you to collect your items.

You can borrow up to six books (hard copies) at any one time.

You will receive an email notification once your book(s) are ready to be collected. This will normally be the next working day after they have been requested. They will then be held for seven days.  Entry to the Library is by appointment only.  You will be allocated a time slot in which to collect your books.  It is important that you collect your book(s) on time as the Library is operating on a strict two-in, two-out process.

You should visit the Library on the first floor, wait at the Library desk and show your item collection notification (this can be a paper copy or on your phone) to the member of staff on duty. If there are already two students in the Library when you arrive, you should wait outside the Library entrance door until they leave.

You will also be required to present your student card.  Your books will have already been issued to your account.  Please check the return date in the books.

You must always adhere to social distancing while on the College Campus and be respectful and mindful of others.  There will be markers on the floor and clear signage to assist with this.  Face coverings should always be worn (except where someone is exempt from wearing a covering).  You are required to use the hand sanitiser on entry to the Library.

A returns box will be located outside the Library for book returns.  These items will then be quarantined for 72 hours before being cleaned and returned to the shelves.  You must not share library resources with any other students or households.
