Ellis Barton - Painting and Decorating Modern Apprenticeship

Ellis said “I chose to make the 70 mile round trip to study the course, because I’ve always had an interest in Painting and Decorating and was keen to secure an apprenticeship.  I’ve really enjoyed my time at South Lanarkshire College, and would like to especially thank my Lecturers Brian Hannigan and Anna Robin for their advice and guidance.  I’m extremely excited about the future and can’t wait to study and complete my apprenticeship to become a qualified Painter and Decorator”

South Lanarkshire College Painting and Decorating Curriculum Manager, Brian Hannigan said he was delighted for Ellis, Brian continued:

Ellis is a honest, hardworking and diligent student, who is keen to learn all aspects of the trade. I have no doubt that she will be a great asset to her new company.  The City and Guilds course at the College is a great entry level course for students looking to secure an apprenticeship”

Ellis’ new employer David Gardiner of Swish Decor spoke to us about  his new apprentice, stating: “Ellis was the stand out candidate for the post, she was very polite and easy to talk to. Her passion for painting and decorating was very clear to see, and her commitment of travelling from Broxburn to East Kilbride to attend the college course, showed her ambition and hunger for the post.  Ellis made sure she was in the best position possible to get the apprenticeship in the industry and I look forward to working with her “

Everyone at the College will miss you Ellis, we wish you all the very best in your new role.
