Schools Provision

The College has a long tradition of working with schools and offers a range of programmes for and in partnership with secondary schools and North and South Lanarkshire Councils and East Renfrewshire Council.

Where possible, we’ll be happy to arrange visits to the College for school pupils or members of staff. A member of our team will be happy to attend parents’ evenings or information days for school pupils. Schools and local authorities can contact us on:

Introductory Programmes

These programmes are designed to provide an introduction to a variety of vocational areas. All courses are suitable for all students.

Winter Leaver Programme

This programme is offered through the College partnership with South Lanarkshire Council. This programme is open to pupils who wish to leave school at the winter break. To undertake the programme you must be eligible to leave this December and you must be 16 years old before the end of February next year. Pupils on the programme have the option of 3 areas of study: Business, Construction or Care.

The Senior Phase Programme

The Senior Phase Programme is open to S4, S5 and S6 pupils from schools across the South Lanarkshire region and from East Renfrewshire Council.  Senior Phase courses are designed to be studied along with the current school curriculum.  Time spent in College ranges from 3 hours to 9 hours per week dependent on course studied.  A range of qualifications are on offer from HNs to NPAs.

South Lanarkshire Young People:

In consultation with your Guidance Teacher you can apply for one of our exciting courses at SLC.  To apply, please complete our application form and pass to your Guidance Teacher, who’ll make sure we receive your application. We recommend you submit your application form as early as possible and at least by the end of February if you plan to start college in August.

East Renfrewshire Young People:

In consultation with your Guidance Teacher you can apply for one of our exciting courses at SLC. To apply, please speak with your school about your application.
