Course Outline:

With 102,000 vacancies reported in the UK between April and June 2021 employers are looking for experienced staff and even increasing wages to attract more people into the industry. The hospitality industry is projected to continue to grow by 4% over the next ten years, which will mean a continued increase in job opportunities. This course will give you the fundamentals for working in this sector.

This course will start in August 2022.

Education Progression:

  • Entry to second year of an HND Hospitality Management. We recommend that you complete three more optional units/gain experience in the hospitality industry before starting the HND.

Entry Requirements:

One or more of the following:

  • 2 Highers
  • SVQ level 3 Hospitality Supervision and Leadership
  • Higher studies in hospitality
  • Equivalent recognised qualification
  • Relevant work experience
  • Acceptance may depend on an interview.

What will I study?

You’ll learn the skills for hospitality operations such as food and beverage service, food hygiene, supervision, and financial control systems. The course includes specialist units in accommodation operations, front office management, specialist food and beverage services, and events and conferences. You’ll learn through work placement, groupwork, lectures, industry visits and guest speakers.
