Care Students’ Comments

Care Students’ Comments

We asked some of our students to let us know what they think about their time at South Lanarkshire College

Here are some of their comments:

Stephen McInally – Men in Childcare

“I started this course with a little trepidation as I have never done any work in this field before, but after the first week both myself and the other men relaxed and really started to enjoy ourselves.  The course is both fun and informative and our lecturer was excellent, taking time to ensure individual understanding and also class awareness of all points covered.  I feel that this course has helped me both in my personal development and also in my quest to further my academic qualifications in this particular field of work.  I am very happy to say I am glad I took a chance to try Men in Childcare.”

Samuel Rodger – SWAP Access to Nursing

“As one of only two male students in our class, I was made to feel very welcome by lecturers and the other students in our class.  Much of the work focuses on equality, which is very well promoted at South Lanarkshire College.   The coursework was sometimes challenging, but achievable, as the course content has been designed to encourage students to become more self-confident, while learning study techniques which difinitely help throughout the year.”  After taking part in this SWAP course, I would definitely encourage other men, and women, to enrol in order to work towards achieving a place at university to study for a degree in nursing.”

Stephen Nugent – HNC Social Care

“A vibrant and exciting environment with an encouraging and friendly atmosphere that stimulates learning.”

Wilma Bebbington – SVQ2 Beauty

“I thought the help and encouragement I received was brilliant. The staff were very good. With me being an older student, it is very encouraging for the mature student.”

P.S Look out for more testimonies coming soon!
