As the end of the year approaches we’ve been chatting with Susan Ralston and Maryam Jamil about their journey to studying HNC Childhood Practice….
Susan told us: “I used to work for a large bank and then as a Teaching Assistant before coming to the College to study for a Personal Development Award (PDA) in Education Support Assistance. Studying for the PDA gave me the confidence to apply to study HNC Childhood Practice to help me reach my goal of becoming a Nursery Practitioner. It’s been great being able to work my studies around my own children and I’ve really appreciated the great support from lecturers and classmates.”
Maryam added: “I’d always wanted to work with kids and was a wee bit nervous about starting the course because I wasn’t sure what to expect, but now I’ve been applying for jobs in nurseries after successfully completing my HNC. I’ve particularly enjoyed being out on placement because it’s given me the chance to go out in to work and put what we’ve learned in the classroom in to practice.”
Congratulations on all your hard work, Susan and Maryam. We’re really proud of you both and wish you all the best for the future!
