EMPLOYABILITY FUND

South Lanarkshire College has been awarded funding from Skills Development Scotland to deliver a range of different programmes through the Employability Fund.

Employability Fund activity aims to help people develop the skills required to secure a job or progress to a more advanced form of learning.

COURSES

All courses are focused on helping you get into employment with SQA accredited qualifications delivered by South Lanarkshire College lecturers.  The Training & Employment team has dedicated and experienced staff that will provide employability sessions, one to one support and work placements to help you gain the experience and references you need.

EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT

You will be fully supported by the Training & Employment team with a named contact who is on hand to help with any queries or issues.  The employability programme will include:
• Career Guidance
• Up to date industry knowledge
• CV Building
• Application forms, personal statements and covering letters
• Interview techniques, preparation and mock interviews
• Invaluable work placement to develop practical work place skills

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

Courses and work placements are carefully designed for you to progress into suitable employment, education or training.  Any further qualifications or resources required for placement will be provided.  This can include H&S test for CSCS card, REHIS Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, PVG Membership, Moving & Handling, Extended Learning Support and any necessary PPE.  Travel will be provided weekly (£3 contribution required).  A six month aftercare service will be offered to track progress and offer any assistance.  You will also receive a £50 bonus when you progress into employment or £100 for a Modern Apprenticeship.

EMPLOYERS

The ultimate aim of our training progammes is to progress participants into employment and meet the needs of local employers.  An integral part of all our training courses is a work placement with local businesses and organisations.  If you are interested in finding out more or want to offer a work placement please contact any of the team.
