Depending on the country you are applying from, the application may be dealt with directly by the College or it may be forwarded to our local agent in your country who will be able to assist you with your visa application.

We recognse that international applicants have a wide range of relevant qualificatons, so each applicaton is assessed on its individual merits.  Your application form will be passed to the appropriate College department.

Payments, Conditional and Confirmation of Acceptance for Study

In order to receive a conditional offer, you must
  • Complete the application form
  • Provide proof of your level of ability in English language
  • Provide copies of qualifications held and details of any examinations being undertaken
  • Payment of the course fee.

Visa application / visa deadlines

You should be aware that it may take several weeks for your visa application to be processed.  Therefore, early application and fees payment to the College are advised so that there is plenty of time for you to receive your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies letter which gives you the number you will need in order to apply for your visa with the British Embassy.

Once your course application and payment have been processed by the College, you will be issued with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studenties letter which you will require to submit with your visa application to your local British Embassy.

Once your visa application has been processed by the British Embassy, you (or the local agent) should contact the College to confirm your study status; to make arrangements for travel; and to make arrangements for you to be met at the airport by a member of College staff.  Pickup can be arranged for Monday-Friday arrivals.

Britain is very keen to accept suitable International Students and we would expect your application to South Lanarkshire College to be successful. However, if you are unsuccessful your fees will be returned in full on submission of the APP200, visa rejection letter.

Further information on the visa application process, conditions of sponsorship, etc is available on the UK Borders Agency website  http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/studyingintheuk/
