Enrolment

Places on most part-time courses are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and for these courses, your place may only be booked by completing the advance enrolment form and paying the course fee. A separate advance enrolment form must be completed for each course.

For those courses with either entry requirements or entry by interview, you will require an unconditional acceptance letter from the Faculty before you can book and pay. For these courses, please complete the full College application form and tick the part-time, day-release or evening option as appropriate. Once you have the acceptance letter, you can complete the advance enrolment form and pay the course fee.

Please see the information and events section for details of information evenings (including advance enrolment and payment) for part-time courses. back to top

Class Times

There may be slight variation between departments and, if so, the department will inform you if the times are any different from the normal class hours as shown below.

Morning 08.45 - 12.00
Afternoon 13.00 - 16.30
Evening 18.30 - 21.30 back to top

Vocational Day / Evening Classes

Most NQ, HNC and HND programmes accept part-time (infill) students as many of these courses consist of single / double / triple credit units of study that can be studied as separate courses. In some cases, prior study may be required and you would be advised of this at the time of application. A single credit unit lasts about 36 hours, double credit units last 72 hours and triple credit units 108 hours. As most classes are of 3 hours duration, this equates to 12, 24 or 36 weeks of study - usually one morning, afternoon or evening per week. back to top

Part-time study on NQ Programmes

Most NQ programmes can be studied on a part-time infill basis. Please contact Admissions who will pass your details to the relevant Curriculum Manager to arrange an interview to design an infill programme for you.

Part-time study on Higher National Programmes

Many Higher National Certificate (12 credit) and Higher National Diploma (30 credit) courses can be studied on a part-time basis - day-release, evening, infill - and some offer flexible learning options. Many of the units comprising these courses are free-standing and do not require previous qualifications or prior knowledge and can therefore be undertaken as individual units of study without having to complete the full Higher National Certificate / Diploma course

Leisure Classes

Leisure classes are normally of 2 hours duration, although some may last 3 hours. Starting times and start finish dates for these classes will be listed with the course details. Leisure classes are not normally certificated. back to top
