The College works in partnership with community groups, voluntary organisations and other agencies across Lanarkshire to enhance community development. Community Liaison: Charlie Bent Tel: 01355 807650 Fax: 01355 807711 Email: charlie.bent@slc.ac.uk Alternatively, training can be offered to local residents, delivered in their own community, thereby saving people the cost and inconvenience involved in travelling to and from the College. This can be of considerable benefit in the rural areas of South Lanarkshire. Representatives of individual community groups, or any "umbrella" organisations which would like to work in partnership with South Lanarkshire College to bring learning opportunities into their own community, should contact the Community Liaison Officer (see above). The College has links with South Lanarkshire Council, Changing Places Regeneration Partnership, Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire and other agencies. The Community Liaison Officer works closely with the Community Learning Service, Integrated Childrens Services, Family Centres and SoLVE (the volunteer development agency for South Lanarkshire). The College is also represented on Community Learning and Development Plan groups which aim to co-ordinate learning partners efforts to deliver learning in the community. |
