ESF and Inclusion

esf-business-&-it ESF is one of the funds set up by the European Union to help combat unemployment and regenerate areas of urban and rural decline.  The Funds provide financial support and job creation projects.  Working in partnership with other organisations is the key to delivering successful ESF projects and the College has build strong links with South Lanarkshire Council, the Construction Industry Training Board, Changing Places, Routes to Work South and local employers.
esf-childcare Thanks to ESF, the College has been able to offer courses in childcare, construction, hairdressing, beauty therapy, IT office skills in College and also in local neighbourhoods including Hillhouse, Whitehill and Whitlawburn and this has made a real difference in people's lives. Assistance is usually targeted for those who are unemployed and who wish to undertake education or training to re-enter the job market and may include training allowances, travel expenses, additional guidance, tutorial support, career information, childcare allowance and tools/materials allowance and completion bonus.  Eligibility criteria and financial assistance may differ according to the course. esf-construction Training can also be targeted at re-training employees of Small to Medium-sided Enterprises (SMEs) ie those with less than 250 employees.

The College has also received funding through the European Regional Development Fund to enhance its training facilities and improve wider access and learning support for students.  This funding has allowed the College to provide additional student services and state of the art training workshops which meet the needs of industry.
